Sydney is in a perfect world since she lives with her best friend, has a terrific boyfriend, and her life's soundtrack is increasingly the music coming from the balcony next to hers.

The bubble, however, bursts when Sydney learns that her partner is having an affair. Sydney is given hope that she can move on when she meets the mysterious and alluring Ridge, and they start writing songs together. The difficulty of moving on surprises her, though.
